Seplat Commits to Tech Innovation in Energy Sector
Seplat Energy Plc has committed to leading innovations in Nigeria’s energy sector, especially in the oil and gas industry, through technological advancement.
At the just concluded Seplat Technology Summit in Lagos, Roger Brown, the Chief Executive Officer of Seplat Energy, emphasised the vital role of technological advancements in advancing the energy sector.
Brown, who was represented by Samson Ezugworie, the Chief Operating Officer of Seplat Energy, disclosed that the firm had been using technology to solve problems in the industry.
“Seplat has become a leading Nigerian energy company, we have achieved this leading role by leveraging technology. For us, it is all about how we can be safer, cheaper, more efficient, and faster in our known space, and then how we can break new ground.
“We are all gathered here to findlasting solutions to our lingering problems in our industry because if we do that, our industry will grow and continue to win,” Brown said.
The summit, themed “Leveraging Technology across the Energy Value Chain to Unlock Transformational Potential”, attracted industry leaders, technology enthusiasts, students, and professionals from around the world to explore innovative solutions and advancements in the oil and gas sector.
The two-day event focused on addressing the pressing challenges faced by the energy industry as attendees were introduced to technologies aimed at transforming upstream operations, renewable energy, and optimising gas transportation networks.
Farouk Ahmed, The Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, who was represented by Steve Ayuba, a Senior Technical Adviser of the NMDPRA, highlighted the need for collaboration and innovation among industry players and regulatory authorities.
