Petrol Price Hits N1,025 at NNPC Outlets in Lagos; N1,060 in Abuja
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has again increased the pump price of petrol.
The new rates, now in effect, set prices at N1,025 per litre in Lagos and N1,060 per litre in Abuja.
Aliko Dangote, chairman of Dangote Group, attributed the ongoing fuel shortages and queues at petrol stations across Nigeria to marketers not collecting fuel from his refinery.
Speaking with journalists at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, Dangote highlighted his refinery’s ability to meet Nigeria’s fuel needs, urging fuel marketers to take swift action to resolve the shortages.
When asked why fuel queues persist despite production at his refinery, Dangote responded, “With sufficient crude oil, we’re capable of producing over 30 million litres daily. At full capacity, we can meet whatever demand there is.”
