NNPC Debunks Reports of Port Harcourt Refinery Shutdown

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has dismissed claims circulating in the media that the recently restarted Old Port Harcourt Refinery has ceased operations just two months after its re-streaming.

In an official statement signed by Olufemi O. Soneye, NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, the state-owned oil company described the reports as untrue.

The statement confirmed: “The refinery is fully operational, as verified just a few days ago by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC.

Recent media reports suggested that the Port Harcourt Refining Company had halted operations weeks after resuming production. However, the NNPC clarified that these allegations are baseless and that preparations for the day’s loading operations are currently underway.

“Members of the public are advised to discountenance such reports as they are the figments of the imagination of those who want to create artificial scarcity and rip-off Nigerians,” the NNPC said.
