NNPC Appoints Olufemi Soneye As Chief Corporate Communications Officer
Olufemi Oladapo Soneye has been named chief corporate communications officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited.
As a result of this development, Soneye will succeed Garba Deen Muhammad, the state-owned oil company’s previous top corporate communications officer.
The NNPC, however, did not explain why the adjustment was made in a message sent on its official Twitter (X) account.
Soneye is a full time and freelance journalist who has worked for publications in Nigeria, Australia, and the United States.
“He will lead our corporate communications team and drive our brand penetration, strategic communications initiatives, and stakeholder management,” the statement read.
He is a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, National Association of Black Journalists, Society of Professional Journalists, and the guild of corporate online media publishers.
Soneye is also the former President of the Nigerian Media Practitioners, Washington, D.C.
“We look forward to his valuable contributions to our Company,” the NNPC said.
