 Jos DisCo Refunds N13 Billion to Overcharged Customers

Jos Electricity Distribution Plc (JED) has refunded N13 billion ($16.8 million) to postpaid customers who were erroneously overbilled between January and September 2023, following a directive from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the company said on Tuesday.

The refund affected 52,000 customers across Benue, Bauchi, Gombe, and Plateau States, according to a statement by Friday Adakole Elijah, JED’s Head of Corporate Communications.

The statement said a total of 219,752,347 kilowatt-hours (kWh) were refunded, and customers could check their April 2024 bills to confirm the exact amount reimbursed.

Jos Electricity Distribution Plc reiterated its commitment to serving customers with dedication and integrity.
