A Memorable Milestone: Dada Oluropo Holds 1st AGM As President Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers


The 13th President and Chairman, Council of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) Oluropo S. Dada, on Thursday, 24 April, 2025, held his first Annual General Meeting (AGM) since assumption of office, following the remarkable tenure of his predecessor, Mr. Oluwole Ololade Adeosun, FCS.
According to him, it was an honour to preside over his first Annual General Meeting (AGM) which happened to be the 30th AGM of the institute.
He stated that it was not just a statutory meeting but a reaffirmation of collective commitment to excellence, innovation, and relevance in Nigeria’s Capital Market. Saying that he is incredibly proud of the remarkable progress of the Institute.

Oluropo highlighted major points during the AGM, including the followings:
• A review of the 2024 economic and market performance, where we noted a GDP growth of 3.4% and a 37.65% surge in the NGX All Share Index, closing at 102,926.4 points.
• Presentation of our audited financials, governance updates, and membership developments, including the induction of 80 Fellows, 210 Associates, and a growth in Life Membership to 37.
• Announcement of the results of the 2025 Council elections, with four members confirmed (two newly joining and two re-elected).
• Welcoming of new Council members including representatives from key regulatory and governmental bodies.
• Appreciation of our corporate sponsors and institutional partners whose support helps drive our initiatives forward.
