MOJEC Deploys 300,000 Meters Across Nigeria’s Power Sector in 2024

MOJEC International Limited, a leading indigenous energy company in Nigeria, reported the deployment of 300,000 electricity meters across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) in 2024, according to a statement released on Wednesday.

The company revealed that its subsidiary, MOJEC Meter Asset Management Company (M3AC), successfully installed over 240,000 of the 300,000 deployed meters.

Highlighting the achievement, Monday Ubogu, MOJEC’s Head of Installation, stated that the company completed approximately 150,000 installations during the first three quarters of 2024, representing 40% of all nationwide installations carried out by Distribution Companies (DisCos) within the same period.

This momentum continued into the fourth quarter with the deployment of an additional 95,000 meters, bringing MOJEC’s total installations for the year to over 240,000.

Ubogu remarked, “The record breaking meter installations underscores MOJEC’s unparalleled capacity to drive metering initiatives such as CAPMI, MAF, Vendor Financing, MAP Phases I & II, and NMMP 0, having deployed nearly 4 million meters since the privatisation of the NESI.”

Group Managing Director, Chantelle Abdul, attributed MOJEC’s success to its advanced metering infrastructure. She explained, “Our success is built on state-of-the-art facilities. MOJEC operates two cutting-edge meter production plants with an annual installed capacity of up to 5 million meters.”

This significant production capability cements MOJEC’s position as a major contributor to addressing Nigeria’s metering deficit and as a pioneer in Africa’s energy sector.

Chantelle further noted that MOJEC’s extensive installer network, comprising over 5,000 skilled professionals, ensures rapid and efficient meter deployment. She emphasised that this network enhances MOJEC’s reputation as a trusted partner for DisCos across the nation.

By leveraging its expertise and infrastructure, MOJEC is empowering homes, businesses, and industries with reliable electricity access, Chantelle added.

As one of sub-Saharan Africa’s largest smart meter manufacturers, MOJEC International Limited remains committed to setting industry benchmarks for excellence and innovation.

“With a strong focus on sustainability, cutting-edge technology, and a customer-centric approach, MOJEC is not only transforming the Nigerian electricity metering landscape but also spearheading efforts to build a more efficient and equitable energy future for all,” the company said.
