Tracking the Barrels: NNPC Launches PMCC to Boost Nigeria’s Oil Production, Efficiency

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), under the leadership of Mele Kyari, has unveiled the Production Monitoring Command Centre (PMCC), a cutting-edge initiative to revolutionise hydrocarbon operations.

Spearheaded by NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services (NUIMS), the PMCC builds on the achievements of the Command and Control Centre, aiming to improve monitoring, operational efficiency, and production in the oil and gas sector. This innovation supports President Bola Tinubu’s policy of enhancing industry efficiency and boosting production.

Centralised Monitoring Hub for Hydrocarbons

The PMCC acts as a unified platform for overseeing hydrocarbon flow from production to export terminals, including Joint Ventures (JVs) and Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs). By integrating real-time data from various operators, it provides a holistic view of production activities. This system ensures rapid detection of anomalies, reduces unplanned disruptions and supports uninterrupted operations.
