 Lagos Building Collapse: 12 Rescued, 1 died

Information revealed that twelve people were rescued from the rubbles of the collapsed building in Ore-Meta Street, Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos State while one person was confirmed dead. According to eye witness, the collapsed building is a popular local restaurant known as equal right.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed this via a statement issued by its Coordinator, Lagos Territorial Office, Ibrahim Farinloye, on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

He added that 12 persons had been rescued so far from the rubble of the three-storey building and other operators and people around the location are also assisting to rescue people under the rubbles.

He said the cause of the collapsed was yet to be ascertained but thorough investigation will be carried out to ascertain the cause of the collapse. According to him a search and rescue operation was still ongoing.
